Sundarban B. Ed College and Sundarban Primary Teachers Training Institute is a humble effort and to create and provide opportunity to the most deprived and poor sections of the society, particularly in Sundarban, to receive best quality education for teachers’ training at the most affordable cost.

SundarbanB.Ed College and Sundarban Primary Teachers Training Institute is committed and dedicated to serve the young generations of the area, most of whom come from very poor families. Geographically Sundaban area is a highly vulnerable area. Located at Halderchak, NH- 117, P.O- Madhabnagar, 743374 , Block – Kakdwip.

Keeping this in mind the SundarbanB.Ed College was established in 2015 with the introduction of B.Edcourse. The purpose that drove the founders was to help the poor, marginalised and the backward sections of the society, including the ST. SC, OBC, minorities. It needs to be mentioned that according to census 2011 South 24 Parganas district has highest Scheduled Caste population in the State, which is about 30.19%.

Quality education and highly affordable cost, these are the two mantras of SundarbanB.Ed College and Sundarban PTTI. The college has some of the best faculties in South Bengal. The institution has all necessary permissions, approval and recognition from concerned government bodies. Sundarban B.Ed College is Recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is affiliated to The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education, Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA), formerly University of Calcutta. And Sundarban PTTI is recognized by NCTE and affiliated to West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE).

The eligibility for B.Ed course is successful completion of graduation or equivalent. However over the years the college observed that there are many students who either cannot afford to study graduation or cannot afford to delay their prospect of earning after passing their class XII exams. Given the poor economic conditions of these families, these students want to get to work so that they begin to earn for their families. Keeping their needs in mind Sundarban B.Ed College introduced the D. El. Ed Section which is name Sundarban Primary Teachers Training Institutefrom 2017 for students who passed class XII and are interest in teaching profession.

Over the last five years, the college has received an overwhelming response from students, not only from the area but even from distant towns and entire West Bengal. The college offers a wonderful green campus environment, ample space for different activities and very healthy teacher student ratio. Sundarban B. Ed College is fast moving to become one of the most sought after B.Ed and D.El.Ed Institutions in the Sundarban area.
