Welcome to Sundarban B. Ed. College &Sundarban Primary Teachers' Training Institute, Halderchak, South 24 Parganas, PIN- 743 374, West Bengal.

I am extremely happy to share with you all that we have progressively edified our capacity to create a truly unique teacher education college. We have excelled in every initiative that we have stood together in facing the challenges in realising quality education.

In my view, four things are required to make a college unique exemplary: wonderful students enjoying a tremendous student experiences; very successful faculty; a supportive campus learning environment and substantial resources.

Teacher education is the most important and also very essential education for our society. It bridges between the society and common people. A good teacher can fulfil the needs of the society, needs of the nation through the proper education of the students, the future leadership of our nation. Proper and scientific and also psychology based teacher education can built good quality who can nourishes the children. There is no doubt that education is the instrument of social change. So, Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world.

In the process of education, teacher education is a programme that is related to the development of teacher proficiency and competence that would enable and empower the teacher to meet the requirements of the profession and face the challenges therein.

Now, the term used as "teacher education” instead of "teacher training " W.H.Kilpatrick told that training is given to animals and circus performers, while educator is to human being. So, in the broad sense, teacher education encompasses teaching skills with pedagogical theory and also with professional skills. In the light of these objectives and statutory body NCTE proposed new guide lines so that the teacher can play their significant role in the process of man making and nation building.

Sundarban B.Ed.College has been offering B.Ed. from 2015 under the Recognised by NCTE and Affiliated to the WBUTTEPA and Sundarban Primary Teachers' Training Institute has been offering D.El. Ed. from 2017 under the Recognised by NCTE and Affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

As a part of these institution I would like to express that I feel immense pleasure and convey my heartiest welcome you to our college. I wish your great success in academic mission. And also, I pray to Almighty God to bless all the new entrants with the real meaning of education for their harmonious development of personality.
